Artist Statement:
A figure, a boat, a glass jar—adrift upon water. Is this a sanctuary or a prison, a gift or a sentence? The jar is transparent, yet impenetrable. The voyage is silent, yet endless.

In I Gave You Freedom, freedom itself becomes ambiguous: is it granted, withheld, or imagined? The painting resists answers, leaving only fragments of possibility. Viewers are invited to confront the tension between confinement and release, fragility and strength, presence and absence—until their own reflections become part of the image.

The work asks not what it is, but rather, what it becomes when you stand before it.
