ZARETHA — Artist Statement
ZARETHA explores the tension between identity, transformation, and the unseen self. The faceless figure represents a presence beyond individual identity—a being whose story cannot be reduced to a name, face, or single definition.
The surrounding geometric fragments suggest a reality constantly breaking apart and rebuilding itself. Sharp forms, vivid colors, and intricate golden lines reflect the complexity of becoming, where memories, contradictions, experiences, and transformation shape who we are.
At the center, the luminous golden form becomes a symbolic core—representing inner value, vulnerability, and something essential yet difficult to define. The figure’s hands protect and embrace this center, suggesting a connection with an inner self that exists beneath the visible surface.
The crown-like structure evokes dignity and sovereignty, while the absence of a face challenges conventional ideas of identity and power.
ZARETHA is not a portrait of a particular person, but an exploration of the identity that remains when everything visible is stripped away.
